I'm 3D modeler.
I have little experience in using 3DSMax, because I don't have a legal copy. Haven't used it in last 2 years I guess...
I have some experience in using ZModeler1, none of using ZModeler2 since it was useless for me.
I have average\good experience in using Blender and I still learn.
I have average experience in UV Mapping (Blender), I have good Photoshop skills.
I'm in GMT+1 zone (Poland>Warsaw time). I use MSN and AIM.

Datsun 510 1971, started yesterday.

still WIP
Body - 11300 faces, 21000 triangles (mostly done, only minor stuff left)

Interior - 6700 faces, 12300 triangles (so far, I'm modeling most of details since I love in-car view)

Don't count me 100% before ~20 Feb 2008. I'm in the middle of exam session and I can't be sure if I will have access to computer after that - if I fail - army calls. ^_^

Nice work Jabb. What's the deal with your commitment to the Army? How long will that last?

If I won't pass this semester I will be forced to quit studying and there's 9 month army duty. I can be called in 18 months counting from the day I quit studies but in the worst scenario I would join army on April.

Well, let us know what happens with your classes. Obviously if you get whisked away by the Army, that could be a problem. If not, we can discuss this further. You finish your semester on the 20th?

Last exam is 15th. I'll have to wait a few days for results and that's why I can't say precisely the date. I'll inform you what's the status as soon as possible.

I've got required minimum of points so it's cool.
I will continue working on Datsun.

Jabb, keep us updated with the Datsun. We've very interested. I'm a little busy right now, but remind me sometime next week and we'll talk.

Congrats on the exams!

Finally found some time to waste on a Datsun:

Don't worry about the strange bit of shading on the trunk - I don't know what causes this but I'm gonna sort this out.

Next to do:
-add detail to the trunk (U-shape in the middle, lock)
-roof details and windows
-bumpers

Oh... 3192 polygons, 5804 triangles, 3153 verts.

Total polycount for the renders is 8798, 9488 verts.
Body is now at 3.8K polygons.
One rim is at 1.25K polygons.
With a normalmap it'd be easy to lower these numbers significantly.

Roof still needs a lot of work.

Looking for free-lance

Progress is not really quick - I've been making testrenders lately. However some new bits were made.
