I was just wondering if anyone here still plays interstate 82 or 76, and if anyone has it working on XP?
I recently found my I82 cd and installed the game but when I press new trip the loading strip comes up but doesnt move!
I think the cd is too scratched or somthing :( Does anyone know what Intersate Outlaws will be like?
I cant wait, I know they said a few weeks but its always longer, but can anyone give me the heads up on GFX/SFX and storyline?
Maybe the layout and some cool cars?

Thanks,

H1TMAN

I play both, woo! And I have Windows XP. Compatibility mode is set to Windows 95 and I've never had any problems.

Errm, get a CD cleaning kit? Is it really that bad that it won't read your CD?

it will install it, but it just wont load at the loading screen. My system has the power to run it with no issues, but yes it is pretty damn bad.

Get the no-cd fix? Check compatibility settings in XP, it can be a bitch.

Try turning off compatibility mode and renaming i82stub.exe to i82stubz.exe and executing it. I think there's a huge thread on i82.co.uk/forumipb, so go check that out mate.

I'd be playing it if I had the I'76 install CD, I kinda lost it, but I still have the Play/Music one of course! :D

I'76 came out in 1997, I'82 came out in 1999 I think. The gfx are nothing like each other, although I would argue to the death that I'76 is the better game hands down.

i76 not that good graphics but awesome gameplay, good single player storyline and awesome sound track. (never got to online)
i82 nicer looking but very buggy, badly put together game. Questionable single player storyline but still fun for a blast online.

Have fun man.

I'76 was a specially selected 256 colors, I'82 was 16bit or better, i can't really tell.
I'82 is probably played the most due to the fact it's higher colour count is more acceptable by the majority of players and cars and other objects are easily repainted, and it's probably easier to get a copy of.
I'76 is better in my opinion, it felt complete. I can't imagine the same people that were on the I'76 team made up the I'82 team, it's just not possible, a lame damage bar and no inside car view for starters.
It was fun to go through messing with the I'76 files, extracting car panel images, repainting them, making .TMT's and the other files needed for a complete job, good times.
