Hi there

First off, I'd like to mention that I'm a bit of a noob and I haven't much experience in code, computers or video games. But I like the sound of the project you're working on here, and I thought I'd try it out ;)

My problem:

I have installed it, and there is a shortcut on my desktop. When I click it, it comes up with a little cmd-looking window and then my whole screen turns black, with a "loading" cursor on it. I wait for quite a while and nothing happens. Ctrl-Alt-Del comes up with the applications list and it is noted as not responding.

So, there it is. I've looked for help on this site and a few others and I can't find any reason why it won't advance from that black screen. :(

Any help would be greatly apperciated

Thanks in advance

-Robobot.

I'm running Windows XP. I closed down all other programs before running this one, but it still did not work. :(

What happens if you click the mouse while the screen is black?

Well, the cursor stays as the little timer thing and when I click nothing happens. The blackness covers the whole screen, so no taskbar or X button or anything.

What if you click a bunch of times or hit space bar/enter?

Nothing.

I clicked, pressed Enter and Space loads of times but it still stays as the timer. I also tried Esc, but that did nothing.

I had to Ctrl-Alt-Del my way out of it again. "Crystal Space Application" not responding. That's the engine it runs on, right? Anyway, that wasn't responding, but underneath that was just "Interstate Outlaws" which it said was responding.

Is it my computer? I might run in on another one at the weekend to test it.

Hmmm. I think I'm gonna let Cfraz have a crack at your problem. In the mean time, definitely let us know how it works on that other computer. Hopefully we can help you sort this out.

Hey Robobot,
Sorry your having so much problems. Can i get you to try something:
- Edit celstart.cfg in the game's install folder. Look for a line that says Video.Fullscreen = true
- Change it to Video.Fullscreen = false
- Run the game, this time it should run in a window. See if the console spits out some output.

BTW, what video card do you have?

Thanks for the help.

I tried it on another computer and it works fine. It's top notch stuff guys, I'm liking it. :)

I'll also try what you suggested, cfraz89, to see if we can get it working on this one. I'm not too sure about my video card. I'm not good with things like that.
